My sister passed away in March of this year, she was cremated. In my dream it was her funeral and she was in an open body casket. my brother in law and mom were on either side of her and stood her up and then her eyes fell out, my mom was scrambling to put them back in and i bawled the rest of the dream.
I'm sorry to hear about your sister's passing. Dreams about loved ones who have died can be particularly intense and often reflect complex emotions surrounding grief, loss, and remembrance.
In your dream, the open casket suggests a desire to process the reality of your sister's death, and the act of standing her up might represent an attempt to bring her back into your life or to honor her memory in a way that feels meaningful. The scene with your brother-in-law and mother suggests a shared experience of grief and possibly a need for support as you navigate your feelings.
The detail about your sister's eyes falling out may symbolize a feeling of loss of clarity or confusion about her absence. Eyes can also represent perception or insight, so this could point to feelings of not being able to see or understand fully why she is gone or what life will be like without her. Your mother scrambling to put the eyes back in can indicate a desperate desire to preserve memories or restore a sense of normalcy amidst deep sorrow.
The intense emotion you experienced in the dream—bawling—reflects the depth of your grief and the ongoing process of coming to terms with your sister's death. It may also suggest that you are still working through unresolved feelings related to her passing.
Overall, this dream highlights the themes of loss, the struggle to hold onto memories, and the collective nature of grief shared with family. It’s important to allow yourself to feel these emotions, as they are a natural part of the healing process. If you find it helpful, consider talking to someone who can provide support, such as a friend or a counselor.
